otherwise be tempted to fall flat
Monday, April 30 2012
I'd left a tray of seedlings out on the east deck last night, which was a bit of a mistake given that a cat litter tray full of water sitting on the Subaru froze solid last night. But it turns out that young seedlings are tough; the Brassicas were unaffected, and though they wilted initially, even the cayenne peppers recovered quickly.
The day actually ended up being warm, at least by recent standards. By late evening clouds started streaming in, anticipating a change in the weather.
Down at the greenhouse today (which, I must admit, is adding up to one prolonged procrastination from billable hours) I continued preparations for the eventually jacking up of the roof. Today I installed tiny struts to support the southmost under-rafter girder, which might otherwise be tempted to fall flat against the rafters once the stresses on it experience an angular vector change.
