Tonight Gretchen went out to some poetry function on the New England side fo the Hudson. Afterwards she went with a number of poets and her friend Celia to the house Celia shares with her keywording husband Alex (the guy who'd hired me to build his miraculous keywording web app; recently he got an actual job as a VP at a Redhook-based software firm). There, food had been served, though the only thing Gretchen could eat was hummus. Afterwards, Gretchen returned home while I was in the middle of Thursday Night happy hour with my colleagues. So Gretchen joined us briefly, chatting with the people who are like family to me but whom Gretchen only really hears about second-hand (and they about her). Afterwards, one or more of my colleagues observed that Gretchen and I appear to be a lot more loving with one another than expected.
