Today Gretchen managed to walk the dogs for the first time since our return from Europe. Then she put in a Neville-free shift at the bookstore and left directly from there for Washington, DC, where she would be attending the biannual activist poetry gathering called Split This Rock.
At some point I loaded up the dogs and drove out to the Tibetan Center thrift store just so I could be there when it wasn't mobbed with people. Amazingly, there suddenly was stuff I wanted: a six megapixel Photosmart M547 digital camera, a LED-encrusted dual flashlight, and a battery-powered FM headphone radio (which is always useful for my setup, which broadcasts audio from my computer on a local FM frequency).

This evening as I prepared for bed, I decided to take an ambien. But I didn't want it to lead to any embarrassing posts, so I took my OLPC laptop to bed with me. It has a web browser, but it doesn't have Slack, Facebook, or particularly good emailing capabilities. I figured it would protect me from myself if I went to post anything weird. [REDACTED]
