not doing independent study in the forest
Tuesday, April 24 2018
It was another gorgeous sunny spring day, and in the morning I drove out to Home Depot to get some treated lumber for the screened-in porch project. I got four 12 foot two by eights and four 12 foot two by sixes. In the past when I carried such long heavy lumber on the roof rack, I made the mistake of clustering it in the center of the rack, away from any underlying support, resulting in a bent aluminum roof rack element I had to remove from the roof and straighten. This time I broke the lumber into two bundles, one on each side of the rack directly over the underlying attachment to the roof. Oddly, the dogs were not doing independent study in the forest when I returned home.
Later, Gretchen did a bunch of poetry reading down in the greenhouse, though that place makes one sleepy and it ends up being hard to do anything down there.
