Like my brownhouse:
   demotivating
Wednesday, May 2 2018
It was another sunny summery day, with increasing humidity and temperatures in the 80s. I would eventually have to run a fan to keep myself cool up in the laboratory.
This morning when I prevented Ramona from joining Gretchen and Neville on the daily walk in the forest, she was not having it. Yesterday she'd accepted several dog treats as a consolation prize, but when I offered them to her this morning, she initially refused them, as if to say, "Yeah, that's not going to cut it." And when I rolled glucosamine tablets at her across the floor, she didn't snap them up with glee (as she had yesterday) but ignored them until Celeste the Cat started nibbling on one.
I went down to the brownhouse with my Chromebook to take care of some fundamental business, but decided not to go in when I saw a small greyish snake (probably some sort of black racer) wedged into the gap beween the door and its frame. Perhaps it was trying to shed its skin. It seemed easy enough to leave her be and go use bathroom indoors. There's a handy trail that leads from the brownhouse directly to the new deck of what will be a screened-in porch. [REDACTED]

Evidently the amount of hyrdronic fluid I'd added to the solar heat collection system had been insufficient, as it had barely harvested any heat yesterday. Today I added an additional gallon at the top, and that seemed to be what was needed to get it working nicely, and it managed to raise the household hot water to a temperature in excess of 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
