Like my brownhouse:
probably hoping to intelligence-lowering conspiracy-theory-rich conversations
Thursday, March 25 2021
Our phoebes seemed to arrive today, because their calls could now be heard almost constantly. It sounds like this: "Phoebe! Phoebe! Phoebe!" It started out rainy, but the sun came out in the afternoon and temperatures rose into the 70s. That's about 20 degrees more than one can normally expect at this time of year.
The weather was so balmy that I put on a pair of shorts, and when I went to do a landlording chore at the Brewster Street house, I wore flip flops for the first time in 2021. On the way to Brewster Street I stopped at the Stewarts in Old Hurley to get a tank of gasoline, some Stewarts-brand energy drinks, and some Fritos-brand 70s-style corn chips. The guy standing behind me in line was wearing a black shirt with white writing on it that read TRUMP 2020, probably hoping to intelligence-lowering conspiracy-theory-rich conversations. At the time I was also wearing a black teeshirt with white graphics, but instead of text it was a line drawing of some sort of shrimp.
All I had to do at Brewster Street was put new knobs on a problematic door with an old-style door latch system. This time, I put a little superglue on the attachment threads between the knobs and the spindle so it would survive a little longer. Meanwhile the tenant, who is a registered nurse, was giving me all kinds of advice for my second coronavirus shot (I'd volunteered that I'd already gotten the first shot). The body usually reacts more strongly to the second shot, so she suggested I take a Tylenol before getting it. Being a healthcare worker, she'd already been vaccinated for weeks. She'd had the one made by Moderna.

Yesterday I'd received another digitizer for my RCA Cambio tablet, this evening I installed it. First, though, I tested it to make sure it could digitize across the surface of its screen. Unfortunately, once I had it installed, I found that the digitizer would not recognize a touch along a one-centimeter-wide strip along the bottom of the screen. That might not've been much of a problem were it not for the fact that that is where the taskbar runs, and to use a Windows 10 machine, one makes at least occasional use of the taskbar. But I decided not to worry about it for the time being, since I never use that tablet anyway.
