Dear Diary:

Weather today -- sunny but cold
Mood today -- peevish
Fly count for yesterday -- 0
HF Today -- 81%

I took a random sampling of one (me) this morning and the data indicates that Lpage bites. I'm getting REAL tired of seeing this message every time I try to access their "upgraded" servers:

Error Occurred While Processing Request Error Diagnostic Information Server busy or unable to fulfill request The server is unable to fulfill your request due to extremely high traffic or an unexpected internal error. Please attempt your request again (if you are repeatedly unsucessful you should notify the site administrator).

I'd go back to Pergatory but I don't trust those fools not to pull the rug out from under their users again. After paying them $5 for a "lifetime" guestbook. Whose lifetime is what I wonder? Mine or theirs (until they get enough $5 donations to head for Rio de Janeiro or something)?

Rant number two today is a combination gripe at JetLink and InterNIC. InterNIC had the *gall* to send me a bill for my domain name registration when they don't even have it functioning properly yet! They want me to pay for the domain name from December 28th on... I don't think so, Scooter Pie. When it works, that's when I'll pay and not a second before then. Now, this *could* be JetLink's problem... but they're not answering my emails (sound like another ISP we all have heard too much about lately?). Whatever the case, I want my domain working and I want it now. I've been patient, I've been polite. Now I'm getting pissed. In addition, JetLink *promised* me they'd have a second unique mailbox set up on my account the DAY AFTER I FORKED OVER MY $240 TO THEM. It's been what.... nearly 10 day now?.... and no second mailbox. I am sick to death of battling these damn companies that just don't care about their clients. There are a lot of people out there who are out to scam whatever they can from whomever they can. I am not one of them. I try to do things correctly. I try to do what I know is right. I don't steal bandwidth, I don't generally disparage others on the web, and I try not to make enemies. But how far can one be pushed before pushing back, HARD? It's looking to me like my days at JetLink are numbered if this is what I can expect. I REFUSE to accept that they are too busy to email me and say, "Please be patient, we're working on it. Here's the status as of right now: blah blah blah." I am NOT a mushroom to be kept in the dark and fed fertilizer. I am an intelligent, resourceful, analytic, creative woman who is not accustomed to being treated like a non-entity. I tolerated that garbage from Fishnet for too long. I will not tolerate now from JetLink. Two more days. That's it. If I don't hear from them in two days about all of this, I'm going to file a grievance with the Better Business Bureau, demand a refund of my $240 and go elsewhere.

Speaking of grievances, I'm currently searching for an attorney who is licensed to practice in California and who has some knowledge of Internet law. PLEASE, if you know of anyone fitting that description, could you kindly email me with his/her name, phone number, email address, etc.? The attorneys I've contacted thus far are not licensed to practice here and have been less than helpful at connecting me up with someone who CAN assist me. This is in reference to Fishnet, of course. I have every intention of suing them over this entire fiasco. I calculated that if I had paid a professional web design firm to design my site, it would have cost me about $70,000. Fishnet, through negligence and inadequate security measures, destroyed that. I plan to pursue this as far as I need to. Please send any recommendations for attorneys to me as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can provide.
