Vyvanse aftermath Tuesday, February 23 2016
I woke up this morning with a rather bad headache, which is unusual for my hangovers. But it's been awhile since I've had a hangover after getting jacked up on prescription amphetamines. Fortunately, once I'd suppressed the headache with ibuprofen, I wasn't really all that bad off. The Vyvanse evidently has a long half-life in the body; I'd taken a 50 mg dose at 4:00pm last night and I was still clenching my jaw and feeling somewhat speedy (though not in a good way) at noon today.
Sleet had just begun falling from the sky when I set out on a firewood-gathering foray late this morning. I managed to further process the big Chestnut Oak up the Chamomile from the Stick Trail but then ran into trouble when I was cutting up the load I intended to bring home. The chain blade had evidently stretched enough to require tightening and managed to jump out of the track in the chain bar. It was only then that I realized that my saw (unlike all my other chainsaws but my Stihl) requires a wrench and a screwdriver in order to tighten the chain. I didn't have those tools with me, so I had to pack what I could and take it home. It nevertheless came to a respectable 104.35 pounds.
Perhaps due to the lingering effects of the Vyvanse, I ended up staying up late tonight, hitting refresh multiple times on the homepage of the HuffingtonPost to see the enormity of Donald Trump's victory in the caucuses that took place there today.
