ambien doesn't really have much effect Wednesday, November 30 2016
Today in the remote workplace, I received a rush task of unexpected complexity that would need to be completed by tomorrow. I actually love tasks like this, because, as I explained to Ta in fundraising, it makes me feel competent (and also, perhaps, indispensible). I built out a whole new feature, but then, in the process of testing it, I realized I really needed a whole new facility to get the data to test it with, so I built that too, completing another task in my task list in the process. I was so excited about that ancillary job that I kept adding features to it well into the night, even after I'd taken in ambien in hopes of eventually falling asleep. I've found that the normal dose of 10 mg of ambien doesn't really have much effect on me if I am totally sober and mentally engaged. It starts to affect my ability to type, but not my ability to think. Alcohol, though, seems to multiply its effect, quickly clouding my thinking, ruining my finger dexterity, and causing inanimate objects in my peripheral vision to come alive.
