I had a couple of house calls this morning, ending with my least favorite client. I don't know what it was, but by the end of that second house call I felt myself growing nauseated and generally uncomfortable in my body, especially any part of it to which I turned my attention. Because of this, there's reason to believe it might have been entirely psychosomatic.
So when I got home all I could do was lay about. I stayed in bed most of the day, able to do little except read a book that Gretchen had been reading: Kurt Vonnegut's Galapagos. I just love the way he explains things as though you've just arrived from another planet and have no common sense about the way things happen here on earth among humans. Now my bookmark is chasing Gretchen's.
