such an autodidact Monday, April 26 2021
It was day one of the new week as we wound down our outsourcing with the remote Ukranian outsourcers. Meanwhile I was actually making progress figuring out the Angular code of the app I am inheriting. The app is huge and unweildy and can barely compile even with fast hardware and lots of RAM. By the end of the day, I was helping other developers who are not working for outsourcing companies set up their computers so they could work on the app. I'm such an autodidact and only know exactly what I need to know to do a job that I often feel like a fraud when interfacing with colleagues who have made software development more of a career, and it doesn't take much to trigger this. Today, for example, all one of them had to ask was how to set up Swagger on localhost, something I'd never bothered to do. Soon thereafter, I called it a day and ran myself a bath. It had been a surprisingly cold day for this time of year, and the hot water felt great.
