You might remember Jacob, Gretchen's former Park Slope friend who is now a film maker living in Los Angeles. He's been in town for the past few days and tonight Gretchen and he went out for dinner and drinks. It seems Love Liza, the film Jacob was working on, did well at the Sundance festival and has been bought for a substantial sum of money.
It's always refreshing when people we know experience measures of success in their lives, given how much failure we see in others and experience on our own. One of the good things about life is that, if it's a minefield, its failures don't usually have the consequences of landmines and its successes have no landmine analogy.
