   Windows Phone for bathtub business
Monday, August 28 2017
It was a cool and sunny day and my first back in the remote workplace since the retreat. I spent most of my day working on changes to the store import I'd written earlier. While my import had been working fine for variable products, it hadn't worked for simple products. This was because in WooCommerce, simple products do not have any variants, whereas in the system I was coming from, simple products each had one variant. These are the sorts of concerns that fill my workday. It might sound tedious to you, but I rather enjoy this sort of work, once (that is) I break through my lethargy and start doing it.

As I often do, I started taking a bath at around 7:30pm, about an hour before the end of the workday. As long as I have a smartphone, I can continue working from a bathtub. I've been using an old Windows Phone to transact my bathtub business. It had been left behind by a hitchhiker in our car and we'd never been able to track her down to return it to her. So I'd reset it to factory and installed Slack on it. It's not great; it only has 512 megabytes of RAM and the only browser that seems to work on it without crashing is Internet Explorer (yeah, I know). But if it falls in the water and is destroyed, at least it's not the phone with a working cell plan.
