Like my brownhouse:
   guarding the front door
Wednesday, September 26 2018
At the workplace today, it was another day of mostly self-directed work. I would've gladly done something, but nobody had given me anything to do. So I furthered my knowledge of Angular 6. God knows, at least in this workplace, there are always things to be learned, and I know what they are.
When I got home, Neville and Ramona rushed out to meet me, but when I tried to get through the front door, I ran into a problem: Neville was jealously guarding a delivery from Chewy.com. It was either dog food or cat food, and it had been put in the front door of the house (which Gretchen had left open). Neville had chewed into a corner of the box but had yet to reach the kibble within. At first I wasn't sure what to do, since there was a real likelihood that Neville would try to bite me if I tried to get past him. But then an easy solution presented itself: the dogs thought they might be going for a ride in the car. I loaded them up and then immediately moved the attractive nuisance of the Chewy box into the back mudroom. Neville and Ramona stayed in the Subaru despite two open doors for the next hour or so, hoping a car ride was really going to happen.
When Gretchen came home, for some reason she was craving tacos, so she and I put together a meal similar to the one I'd made on Sunday. It didn't contain soy curls, but otherwise it was nearly identical. The bean glurp worked especially well with Stand 'n' Stuff taco shells, and instead of cabbage I had something more similar to cole slaw that Gretchen whipped up.
Meanwhile Neville had been put into a guardy mindset, continuing to be obnoxious about various things such as his food bowl and even toys. I've noticed that about his guardy behaviors: once triggered, they take awhile to dissipate.
At some point rain began falling and then there were thunderstorms. The day had warmed back up to summer temperatures, though overnight the mercury would fall to levels typical of mid-autumn.
