   Makerbot day two
Tuesday, March 20 2012
It was day two of having a Makerbot, and today I managed to build out most of the rest of its mechanical systems, including the cantilevered z-axis and its stepper-motor-powered extruder. I then began assembling the main chassis. At that point I got an instant message (I was listening to a podcast broadcast over FM from my computer, which meant I could hear all the sounds generated by the other applications), and I realized maybe I should be spending a little less time on the Makerbot and a little more on earning the money that makes things like Makerbots possible.
[REDACTED]
After resuming work on my Makerbot in the late evening, I managed to finish the last of the mechanical part of the build. There were now many more components now incorporated into it than there were left to incoporate.
