   the pokeweed lives on
Monday, November 6 2017 [REDACTED]
This week in the morning when Gretchen normally takes the dogs for their daily walk in the forest, only Ramona gets to go and Neville has to stay with me. We disable the pet door and I snuggle him on the couch so he doesn't get too sad, and after about ten minutes he's over it and I can enable the pet door again.
There was a bit of rain today, that warm kind we've been getting this whole season. It was followed by strong winds and a sudden change for the cold, but not so cold that we had to worry about frost. The pokeweed on the edge of the garden is as festive as its been all summer. With the first frost it will turn into a blackened mess like the pumpkins in the second season of Stranger Things, which Gretchen and I are now watching. By bedtime we'd reached the end of the third episode.
